F as in History

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, FPiPE is making a comeback.  It will need a new tag line though, since this time I intend to also write about non-French philosophers.  After reading Difference and Repetition, I really began to feel like my basic philosophical education was sorely lacking.  So I've decided to try and read through and live blog a list of philosophical classics in roughly chronological order, starting with Plato.  Obviously, any such list will be subjective and incomplete.  I will combat this problem by ignoring it completely; all that holds this list together is the fact that I've been curious about each of these folks.

I'll start with a selection of Plato's dialogues and go from there.  Other stuff maybe on the list:

Lao-Tzu
Zhuang Zhou
Nagarjuna
Duns Scotus
Ibn Sina [Avicenna]
Spinoza
Leibniz
Hume
Kant
Kierkegaard
Nietzsche
Bergson
C.S. Pierce
William James
Husserl
Merleau-Ponty
Whitehead
Nishida
Sartre
Kuhn

I have not sat down to try and figure out how long this will take, especially considering the intention to live blog the whole works.  But it doesn't really matter because this list is subject to change without notice.

Now that we've got a simple plan, let's take that hill!
